Just inaugurated at the Gare du Nord, the new Halleà Vélos in the Paris region is already boasting impressive figures, making it France’s largest cycle park.

Naturally, this new secure cycle parking facility is equipped by Altinnova, the specialist in parking equipment and the designer and manufacturer of a more cycling world!
La Halle à Vélos: a real XXL bike park equipped by Altinnova
With its practical, gently sloping entrance right next to the station, this unusual bike park is designed to encourage people to travel by bike and train in the Ile-de-France region. Bicycle and pedestrian flows have also been separated to encourage movement within the car park.
Different zones have been designed to accommodate all types of bikes.
For maximum efficiency, we used Optima V10 racks for the 832 classic cycle spaces. Compact and double-decker, these racks provide increased density for this mega bike park.
However, to ensure that everyone can park their bikes, there are also plans for :
- 832 spaces for classic bicycles
- 320 spaces for wide bicycles
- 24 spaces for recumbent bicycles
- 10 spaces for cargo bikes
This large-format hall comes with a wide range of services for users
The Halle à Vélos will be open from 5am to 1am and will be accessible 7 days a week. An ambitious project, right down to the choice of services. The entire shelter will be enclosed and secured by video surveillance. Photovoltaic panels will complete the system, enabling part of the station to be supplied with electricity.
Illuminated signs will display the number of spaces available, linked to an ingenious camera-based counting system. This will make it easy and practical to find your way around the huge car park at Gare du Nord.
Altinnova will also be equipping the car park with two ALTAO® Fix bicycle repair totems and an ALTAO® Pump bicycle inflation station to complete the services on offer to cyclists.
Eventually, a cycle café near the reception will complete the range of services on offer.
Parking facilities for all bicycles
To keep up with the times and meet the expectations of all users, the parking facilities installed will be able to accommodate all types of bicycles
- 832 spaces on Optima V10 double-deck racks with 40 cm spacing for standard bicycles
- 320 places on Optima V10 double-deck racks with 50 cm spacing for wide bikes
- 24 spaces on galvanised upside-down U-shaped urban bicycle racks for longtails type bicycles
- 10 spaces on cargo bike racks for two-wheeled or three-wheeled cargo bikes

Parking your bike in a secure car park has never been easier! What’s more, the design also incorporates a number of services that make this car park a great reference in Paris, where the region intends to offer 140,000 spaces by 2030!
